Wednesday Word: Petulant

petulant

[ˈpeCHələnt]

ADJECTIVE

  1. (of a person or their manner) childishly sulky or bad-tempered. "he was moody and petulant"

We all go through a petulant phase. But the vast majority of us grow out of it. As we mature. As we experience life. You know, as we get older.

But some people don't. And they are crappy people to be around. But only if they aren't getting their way.

Side note: disappointment is the hardest emotion, in my opinion, for a person to unpack and work through. It's a neat and tidy word for a number of difficult emotions. It's anger, sadness, frustration, confusion ... each a volatile emotion on its own. But when you bundle all of them up in one package, you've got one mad 5 year old mentality on your hands.
