inane

[iˈnān]
ADJECTIVE
ORIGIN
mid 16th century: from Latin inanis ‘empty, vain’.
Another wonderful word. It means something to which we refer often, but need a word that is on a different intellectual plane than "you're being stupid". "Your being inane" sounds soooo much better!
