Y'all!! Today we celebrate Ray Bradbury's 100th birthday with quite the reading
extravaganza!
For the event, actors, authors, librarians, and readers are all reading a portion of his dystopian Fahrenheit 451. The readings will be edited together to present a continuous read, lasting about 4 hours.
The novel is divided into three parts: "The Hearth and the Salamander", "The Sieve and the Sand", and "Burning Bright".
The Read-a-Thon begins at 1:30 p.m. Pacific and will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. If you miss it, no worries; it will be available online until Sept. 5, 2020.
Enter this wonderful event, which starts with one of the best first-lines ever: "It was a pleasure to burn", here. Enjoy!!
